It's getting close!

Well Vegas is getting close, and I’m starting to get really excited. I booked my flight the other day, and I will be arriving the evening of June 19th. We don’t get our place until June 20th, so I’ll probably just play poker all night when I first arrive. But who knows, I’ll also probably be super tired so I might just grab a room somewhere.

My plan a few weeks ago was to grind a lot so I wouldn’t have any financial worries while in Vegas. That plan has changed a bit.

First, I was running super bad at 400NL and was losing confidence in my game. So, I made a trip to Turning Stone for the East Coast Championship series they had going on. I played one event and went deep, but no cash. I also played poorly at the cash tables and lost a couple buy-ins at 300max. So, that didn’t help.

So, I didn’t play much for the remainder of the week following my TS trip. Then, Friday night I decided to play some poker, but not the regular grind. I entered into FTOPs first event and went deep, finishing 127th out of 2k+ entrants. I also took the last $350 I had on Stars and played a $335 turbo, and I won that. So, I was starting to feel better again about poker.

After my deep run in FTOPS #1, I had the MTT bug. So, after being away for the weekend, Sunday night I decided to play a $281 satellite to FTOPS event 4, a $1k buy-in event. I seem to run very well in satellites, so obviously I won a seat.

So, long story short, I came 6th in the $1k event for a nice little cash of about $41k. I haven’t really played much since. But, needless to say, I’m no longer worried about my financials going to Vegas, although I didn’t meet my grinding goals. J

That’s about it for now. I’m getting real excited about my first trip to Vegas. I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of the people I discuss poker with on a daily basis despite the fact I’m older than 99,5% of 2p2ers.

Spacegravy out

Grayson (spacegravy) got an offer to live with Joe (bigjoe2003), z32fanatic, iweargoggles....I forget who else, but its a huge lineup and an amazing opportunity for spacegravy so I wish him the best with it, and I still look forward to a summer of partying with him when the 2p2ers ship bracelets at the tournaments this year. Costanza_g is taking his place so now its looking like: futuredoc, bobbofitos, bengiec, myself, costanza_g, DevinLake. I'm still really reallllly pumped about this and I cant wait to get out there and play unhealthy amounts of poker....and do various other things in excessive volume.
